With "Patther Ke Phool", came a girl whom people thought carried too much of 'load' around her. Despite all doubts, this girl gradually and sure footedly rose to fame by sheer hard work, determination and dedication. Although her father was already an established name in the industry,Raveena choose the tougher path to tread on.
From being a model to one of the successful stars of our times, Raveena Tandon travelled a lot before she could arrive to a place especially kept vacant for her. She was here to prove her worth. Her graduation from Patther Ke Phool (Salman Khan) to Rajaji (Govinda) might have been a slow one, but surely it was quite noticeable. People were amazed to see this girl dancing to the tunes with Akshay Kumar and Govinda. Despite her load, she seemed more energetic than most of her counterparts. People were even more amazed to find her coming out better and better in each movie. Raveena Tandon was in tune with all the 'jhatkas' and 'matkas' of Bollywood. Some of Raveena's movies are "Mohra", "Salaakein", "Ziddi", "Anari No.1" and "Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan" with her favourite co-star Govinda. Raveena has a certain amount of grace and spontaneity about her that makes her so special.
There were times when she had to face all the vagaries of this industry. But such experiences only helped her in becoming all the more thick-skinned and determined in her lookout. Her film Shool with Manoj Bajpai saw a totally transformed Raveena. This unglamourous role of a cop's wife was something the industry did not expect from her. But her performance was appreciated by all and sundry and got hera role in the much appreciated film,Daman. Even Ghulam-E-Mustafa was a film where one saw Raveena the actress.
It is nothing but bad luck that the untimely death of Mukul Anand forced a film like Dus to be shelved where audiences could have seen some more acting prowess from Raveena. But as of now, she is the only female star around who has the most number of songs doing the rounds of music channels. She takes this as a compliment and feels good about it...hey Raveena, we are not complaining either!
